The Library is situated at the heart of the College. It has an area of 8000 Sq.feet. A reading space of 2000 Sq.feet is arranged in two floors. It has a spacious circulation counter and a well furnished reading space. Teak wood cupboards, wood and iron racks are used for keeping books. The carpet area of the Stack Room is 3000 Sq.feet. It is full fledged, well furnished and computerized with a digital library.
The Library has been upgraded as a first grade library in 1982. At its initial stage the Library totally depended upon the Management for funds for the procurement of books and other developments. Later the Government began to extend financial support. The Library receives UGC grants also.
Rules and Regulations
1. All students and staff are members of the Library and Reading room.
2. The Library and Reading room will remain open on all days from 09.00 a.m. to 04.00 p.m. except on Sundays and Public holidays.
3. Silence must be strictly observed in the library.
4. Students are required to produce their identity card to enter the Library.
5. Periodicals in the reading room and books in the Reference section will not be lent out. They may be referred inside the library by submitting the identity card.
6. A student at the degree level will be issued 3 books and at the PG level, 5 books.
7. Borrowers will be held responsible for any damage caused to the book. When a book is issued to a member, it is presumed that it is in good condition, unless and otherwise pointed out.
8. Students are not allowed to sub lent the book.
9. Students must not make any marking or underlining in the books and periodicals or disfigure them in any other way.
10. If a book is damaged or lost by a member, he/she will have to replace it or pay the cost of the book at the current rates with fine.
11. A member who fails to return a book on the due date will be fined Rs 1 per day until the book is returned. (Govt. Order No. (M.S) No. 5/2002 H.Edn.dt.15/01/2002.
12. If a book is overdue by one week the Librarian will report his/her identity card at the issue counter for proper verification.
13. A member can avail books from the Library by producing his/her identity card at the issue counter for proper verification.
14. A member will have to affix his/her signature in the Issue Register both at the time of issuing and returning the book.
15. All books must be returned to the Library before the close of each term or at the time of sending certificates for University Examination.
16. The time scheduled for both issuing and returning the books is from 09.00 a.m. to 03.30 p.m. on all working days.
17. Students must remove their footwear out of the library.
18. Mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside the library.
