Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

The PTA of the College is playing a pivotal role in the efficient functioning of the College. The Principal is the President of the PTA. There are five representatives of the parents, including the Vice-President in the PTA Committee. There are five members representing the teachers in the Committee, including the Secretary of the PTA. The PTA is very active in giving all kinds of support and assistance towards the development of the College. Each year an appreciable sum is collected for the PTA Fund and it is utilized for providing facilities to improve the physical condition of Departments and for the welfare of the Students.

The beautification project, Women’s Development Centre, renovation of the Canteen are the major projects completed under the auspices of the PTA recently. Distributing proficiency prize and honoring the rank holders with cash awards and medals, are major programme of the PTA. Students who excel in arts, sports and in other fields are also duly recognized by the PTA.

The PTA executive hold regular meetings to discuss matters relating to the progress of the College. At least three general body meetings are held every year and extra ordinary meetings are held as and when required. Parents’ meeting on class basis are also convened to analyze the performance of each student in the curricular and co-curricular activities. In the Annual General body Meeting the audited accounts of the PTA are presented. The new office bearers of the PTA are elected from the same meeting. The PTA of the College is maintaining close relationship with the College and authorities to strengthen the higher education programmes initiated in this rural area.
